Comedy, Tragedy and Farce

"A table for what a character did when the player missed a session (assuming the character wasn't used as an NPC in the session)ranging from the mundane to the comical to the tragic (but not TOO tragic). Some, but not all, could be future adventure hooks."



Roll a d20 for the event and a d4 to see how far it went. Read all along the line. Mundane actions are short. comic actions have unexpcted reverses, tragic actions have consequences and adveture hooks are a whole fucking thing.

4	You broke your toe	By kicking a stupid rock!	It got infected	With something rare, the cure is far away
5	You were chatted up	By someone cute and slutty	But you were rubbish in bed	And you think you’re in love
6	You forgot something	It was your underwear!	Which has been stolen	But they left a ransom note?
7	You got lost	In a completely familiar place	For d4 subjective years	Due to fairies
8	You ran after an interesting bird	That shat in your eye!	And blinded you	Whilst calling you by name?
9	There was a local election	Which you won!	Because nobody else stood	As the place is run by terrifying criminals
10	You saw the King walk past	And fall on his arse!	And die	After being shot by someone right next to you
11	You attended a wedding	Of your own Mother!	To a total pig	Literally, a real pig. Yet no-one noticed?
12	You lost your hat in the wind	And chased it into the forest	only to be accused of littering	By a psychotic druid
13	You went hunting with rogues	When drunk!	As the prey	It’s still going on, they are right behind you
14	You were arrested	For being drunk	And murder	Of someone important
15	You were caught in a storm	Which swept the roof off a house!	And carried off the family	Of the king
16	You played some orphans at football	And lost!	Now you owe them money	Or the orphanage will close
17	You had your fortune told	It’s bad!	And true	Unless you find the gypsy queen
18	You were followed home by a small dog	It’s vicious!	And rabid	With lycanthropy
19	You got talking with an old friend	Who is incredibly boring	And a recent refugee	From the apocalypse
20	You were interviewed by the local rag	About someone else	Who has threatened your life	From their mountain empire
