What can I do for you?

I need something to blog and can't think of a thing so instead I will be a gaming Yojimbo for you. What do you need? I will do one hour per day for seven days on stuff people request.

I am good with prose and poor with logic puzzles.

  1. Carnival generator. For horrible undead carnivals. Danse macabres and calaveras, formaldayde-filled freakshows. Cruel and wild and exploitative.

Also, I finally finished Crusades Through Arab Eyes. Thanks for the recommendation. Enjoyed the read.

  2. How would you handle a 4d or even higher dimensional dungeon. If you want to talk about the same concept but for monsters or magic items I'd be interested to hear about that as well.

  3. Good day Patrick. I was hoping you might be able to put to bed, once and for all, the actual involvement (or non-involvement) of salt dryads in the formation of the Lechugilla Caverns (https://www.google.com/search?q=lechuguilla+crystals).

  4. Long-term and short-term effects of subterranean adventuring if you would, sir.

  5. These rocks have been lying on a ley line a couple of kilometers down since the earth cooled. What will carrying them around do to adventurers?

  6. Twenty (or more) original and interesting ways to start a new adventure and/or campaign for a party. Bonus points if it works for fantasy, SF, or horror.

  7. A table for what a character did when the player missed a session (assuming the character wasn't used as an NPC in the session)ranging from the mundane to the comical to the tragic (but not TOO tragic). Some, but not all, could be future adventure hooks.

  8. A vortex grenade warp (10' diameter--spawning daughter-voids) has collided with a 50'x 50' space suffering a cubic Escher-5 nanospatial distortion. Unreality spews from a dissolved side of the cube like lava and cools hematitic bubbles. The voids continue to shudder and spawn. what will happen next?

  10. Weird spam as the misunderstood rambling of a cosmic DM, we are all players. How does a corrugated carton box maker hunt its prey? What race created the Rottery Slotter Machine?

  11. I'm looking for a handful of scenes or vignettes to illustrate to my players the dystopian squalor of a slave district of my fantasy metropolis.

  12. Party meets Refugees from a Wartorn Nation. Who are/were they, and what did they leave behind? What did they bring with them?

    1. If you want, it doesn't have to be war. Maybe the Cause of their flight is a variable as well?

  13. Is it too late for a first-time commenter to make a request?

I'm looking for a random table or generator for a civilization's collapse or decline. It can be engineered, accidental or their just karmic reward. I think it'd make for good adventure seeds - the PCs can explore ruins to unravel the mystery of a culture's decline, or they can be caught right in the middle of it.

  14. This is a barter economy. What do they trade here?

ten horror stories in twenty words or less (or something like 20 words).

what happens when you stare in the same place for hours without blinking?

  15. Knowing full well it is probably too late, and that I have already posted a request (which was more of a joke in response to spam than a real request, so please ignore), here is an idea which I think you could really go to town on.

A city that did not pay the piper, and when he returned he took everyone from the age 9 and up, leaving only young children behind. The months following many of the young children died, but some survive, creating small gangs and turning feral.

A few generations later, and the city is inhabited by the descendants of these feral children, still operating in gangs, and leaving vast areas of the city uninhibited. They are still mostly feral, each gang creating its own language, culture, belief. Some small groups of humanoids and wolf packs have also moved in. It is basically a mega-dungeon that is above ground.

Can you describe 5 gangs, their beliefs and attitudes, methods of communication, how they interact with other gangs, how they get food, etc. Are they still human beyond the physical level, whatever else might interest you?

  17. Thousands of years ago the archipelago was a thriving maritime civilization which dominated its neighbors through superior sorcerous firepower. It is now long defunct and, though it is a very long way from anywhere, a whole economy has sprung up around salvaging useful relics from the ruins. Think the 17th-century Javan spice trade. The locals, who are largely lizard people, consider all this wizard trash a nuisance at best, and they have an uneasy relationship with the weird militant strangers from the far seas who are going to force you into trading pacts whether you like it or not. What kind of treasure are they digging up on these islands and why is it worth the months of starvation and scurvy you have to go through to get there?

  18. Alternatively, I don't know, a list of motivations for ghosts.
